On October 2, 2014, TigerMountain Foundation held a wine and cheese event at a board member’s home (thank you Mike and Marie Shelton for generously hosting this event!)
Founder & CEO Darren Chapman, along with Board Chair Jason Michael Walker spoke to supporters and prospective donors on the activities and programs that TMF works so hard on to help adults, children and youth to gain skills, confidence and the ability to succeed. Attendees even heard from some of the youngest participants on what their experiences have been like with TMF’s Garden for Tomorrow experience. People had a great time and learned more about the importance of TigerMountain Foundation’s impact. The organization will continue to do these events and to get the word out to the community.
Thanks to all those who attended and gave their financial support to our organization!
Tigermountain Foundation (TMF) empowers community through our initiatives that include On the Job Development Landscaping and Community Gardens, TMF audio, visual and performance arts, community service and our spirit of volunteering.
As a change agent for healthy living, TMF envisions a healthy community where all citizens can reach their maximum potential.
TMF through its model of Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) will empower communities to better itself from within to build community. TMF builds communities with the concept that if everyone participates and brings their unique gifts to the table, a once dormant field can be converted into a series of beneficial opportunities to that community. The concept is to not only plant fruits and vegetables but also cultivate dreams into reality....read more
Tigermountain uses a model of multi ethnic, multi cultural, intergenerational partnerships to create a vast base of assets to bring to the table. The tidalwave of participation leads to opportunity for all. For example: an attorney, nurse, or accountant who wants to become a volunteer for TMF has an opportunity to satisfy their want to do things for the community, while also providing an opportunity to network with likeminded business professionals. Tigermountain brought these assets together by creating community gardens as a meeting place to not only bring nutritious, affordable, accessible foods but to also educate and stimulate the same community.
is a 501(c)(3) organization that takes great pride in the fact that it has created a storm of interest from people of all socio economic status and walks of life who are interested in not only a better way of life for underserved communities but also a plan to create a
better quality of life for all......Read more
